The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for such outdoor activities as downhill or cross-country skiing or snowboarding and snowshoeing. You can also try a snow-mobile ride or a husky or reindeer safari. Or why not try ice-jigging in winter and other forms of fishing in summer. In summer the area is ideal for walking and trekking or for Nordic walking. You can also go hunting, horse riding, canoeing or off-road biking. In autumn you can pick wild berries and mushrooms in the woods. There are also several programme services in the Ylläs fell area. A variety of events, including cultural events, take place here throughout the year.
